It has been quite a while since I, Smallini, have written an entry for this Diary. In the last year, there have been life changes that have given me more time to work on various projects. One of these projects is the creation of a new miniature magic theater for yours truly. While I have enjoyed performing in the Suitcase of Wonders for close to twenty years, I realized it was time for a new venue - one that was updated for better portability and style.
The old Suitcase of Wonders was beginning to show its age, and there's only so much gaffers tape that can cover up the faults. So I decided to retire the outfit. It now sits in my closet, resting gratefully I believe, after years of wonderful use.
However, I, Smallini, live on! In the past several months I have designed and built a truly wonderful dollhouse theater of magic. It folds flat so that it may be toted on public transport or by air as carry on. The theater has several of the old Suitcase's features, but plenty of new details as well. It just looks enchanting! I'm quite proud of the way it turned out. I really put a lot of work into it.
I would love to share a picture of the new theater, but it is simply too gorgeous to capture by my amateur photographer's hand. I will hopefully employ a professional to take photos soon.
Along with the old Suitcase of Wonders, I have also decided to retire this website. However, I will continue Smallini's Diary on a new website called minimagican.com. The site is live now, but the Diary (blog) is not. Hopefully, it will be soon. The first entry will be about a new routine I developed for the new theater, called "I Love New York." It's fast-paced and fun to watch.
I am, of course, sad about retiring my old friend, the Suitcase of Wonders, but I am also excited about the birth of the new Dollhouse Theater of Magic and the new performance opportunities that lay ahead.
Thank you for reading all these years and I'll see you at the site soon.
