The evening was billed as the Secret Speakeasy, presented by Demonstrator/Lecturer/Showman, Denny Daniel. For a ten-dollar ticket, you could watch vaudville and circus-themed 16mm films, marvel at a collection of sideshow-themed collectables (toys, boardgames, wind-ups), see performances of a miniature magic theater and a Coney Island snake charmer, all while enjoying refreshements.
Denny Daniel is the very clevel man behind The Musem of Interesting Things, a, "traveling interactive demonstration/exhibition of antiques and inventions." Denny is truly a throwback to the days of the traveling demonstrator and lecturer, as he takes his show to museums, schools, hospitals, libraries, and galleries,
After the performance of the Suitcase of Wonders earlier in the evening, Mr. Widdle and I had the opportunnity to watch Princess Pat, the Coney Island Snake Charmer, do her stuff. Her act was thoroughly enjoyable as she and Dionysis, (her nine-foot-long albino python) mesmerized the audience with their routine.
