Almost every magician has probably owned one at some point. The bright green and orange pannels with oriental symbols and budahs stenciled on them really stand out. And the prop is relatively easy to learn and use, hence a version of the screen (designed by Angelo Carbone) is included in one of Fantasma's childrens' magic sets.
I have wanted to use a minuature version of the Temple Screen in the Suitcase of Wonders for some time. I envisioned using it not for the production of items from the top of the screen (a standard technique), but instead to lift the screen to reveal myself, Smallini!
More ideas for minaiture magic props and Suitcase of Wonders theater modifications also popped into my head upon seeing the Glowforge in action. But, alas, the unit will not be available for purchase until the summer, and even then it is beyond the Suitcase of Wonders' financial budget. However, the good news is Mr. Widdle will have access to one, as the institution he is employed at for his daytime job will be aquiring a Glowforge. I look forward to producing a quality-looking mini-Temple screen later that year.
